IRC Livelihoods - UNHCR Empowerment and Self Reliance Opportunities to UAC reaching adulthood (Thessaloniki)

The project will empower 28 young adults between 18-23 years old with a refugee or asylum seeker status, living in the broader area of Thessaloniki, to cultivate the necessary competencies for a successful transition to adulthood, setting the basis for their social empowerment and economic self-reliance. 

Particular emphasis will be placed on supporting unaccompanied children who recently turned 18 and are in need of immediate accommodation and employment. 

Program duration: until December 2024.

The participants will receive services at an intensive pace until December 2024. IRC Hellas proposes a holistic approach to the provision of a well-rounded package of in-house, as well as mobile services that include:

• psychosocial support and referrals to legal, healthcare, and education services
• job counseling (CV creation, connection with potential employers)
• assistance in navigating the housing market
