Migrant Integration Centers (KEM)
Description
The Migrant Integration Center (KEM) of the city of Athens operates as a local point of reference for the provision of specialized services – psychosocial support, legal counseling and information on social rights – to citizens of third countries (migrants and beneficiaries of international protection) with the aim of improving the standard of living and their social inclusion.
In detail, the services provided at KEM are the following:
- Psychosocial support / Counselling
- Legal advice
- Submission of applications for social benefits, such as: Social Solidarity Income (KEA), rent allowance, disability allowances and birth allowance
- Providing information/Support in relation to administrative procedures, VAT number, OAED card and other documents
- Housing applications for asylum seekers
- Issuance of temporary AMKA for vaccination against COVID-19
- Networking – Referral of requests to competent structures, services, bodies
Social inclusion actions for adults:
- Greek language courses for beginners. Also, language courses and courses in Greek history and Greek civilization that address third-country nationals who wish to become extended residents and prepare them for the Greek language certification exams.
- Preparatory seminars for the exams for the Certificate of Knowledge Adequacy for Naturalization. Classes are both online and in-person. For more information please CLICK HERE.
- English language courses for beginners and advanced students and preparation for language tests up to A2.
- IT courses and preparation for the certification exams of basic computer skills (Windows, Word, Excel and Internet).
- Personalized career counseling sessions.
- Intercultural activities are also organized with an emphasis on theater and other artistic activities for children and young people of refugee origin, citizens of third countries and locals.

- The services of KEM on the ground floor operate by appointment only by calling at 00302132082998. Services are open to the public weekdays 8am-4pm, while classes are also held in the afternoons.
- Applications for Greek, English and IT courses for adults are made every day from 10am to 1pm on the 3rd floor of KEM (Mezonos 45, Metaxourgeio) or alternatively via email to kem@athens.gr. For information call: 00302105246722. Note: To enroll in a course your AMKA or PAAYPA number is required and a photocopy of the residence permit or of the relevant application. Applications are made all year long and a waiting list is kept. Afternoon classes are also available.
- To book a Professional Counseling appointment, call 00302105249704 (Monday and Thursday, 8am-2pm) or visit the KEM office (Mezonos 45, 3rd floor).
- Applications for the preparatory seminars for the exams of the Certificate of Knowledge Adequacy for Naturalization are made online all year round and a waiting list is kept. Those interested in participating in the seminars can send an email to kem@athens.gr to obtain the application.
