Description

The Network for Children's Rights offers support and educational activities for children:

  • Psycho-social support
  • Information on social and legal issues
  • Learning support groups for students (primary school or the first 2 years of secondary school)
  • Lending library with children's books (in Greek)
  • Greek and English lessons in small groups
  • Reading groups for parents and children to spend time reading together
  • Support for parents and children learning to read
  • Educational activities, such as guided tours, museum visits, concerts, film screenings and outings for children
  • Weekly creative groups that explore different interests (music, architecture and urban planning, arts and crafts, theatre and cinema, tablets, photography, public speaking, web-radio, tai-chi, foreign languages).

NCR's Child Protection Unit is providing psychosocial support and legal aid to unaccompanied and separated minors, who are homeless or living in precarious living conditions in the urban area of Athens, under the National Tracing and Protection Mechanism ("NERM") for unaccompanied children operated by the Special Secretary for the Protection of Unaccompanied Minors of the Ministry of Asylum and Migration. Under the NERM the NCR team of professionals is identifying unaccompanied and separated children, assess their needs and escort them to the emergency accommodation places. 

Working hours: Monday to Friday 12:00-20:00.
