Description

Casework services: 

The services are offered by specialized staff with experience in working with vulnerable population in a multicultural environment. The Casework service aims to respond to the multiple general needs of the vulnerable population. It consists of social assessment and referral, case management for people at risk, and it is responsible for facilitating access to social assistance and protection services, taking into account their needs and concerns.

Reception System and Registration:

The reception staff identifies the needs of the vulnerable population and registers them to the system in order to provide information regarding available resources to target their specific needs.

Educational Services:

Specialized staff with experience in teaching adults in a multicultural frame, offer Greek and English language classes. The lessons last for 3 months and address students at beginner and intermediate levels.

PSS activities:

  • Table tennis (ping pong)

Table tennis (ping pong) is an activity which progress the cooperation, the mentality and the physical condition of the participants and promotes the health behavior patterns.

  • Tandem group

Tandem as a supporting team, is an activity which provides the empathy and independent living through the education on language skills. Tandem group is supported by the professional staff of MFC, specific case workers. The basic mean of implementation is the practice Greek guide which is made by the professional educator of MFC Thessaloniki and includes categories such as time management, manage the super market daily needs and the management of the material purchases or contribute with public services and the management of the banks accounts.

  • Employability sessions

The employability sessions group, which is organized by a professional work counselor, indicates the final target of integration, step by step in order to at last apply for a job.
The methodological tools that they used to make it possible to find a job, are the preparation of a personal CV and the sessions with the counselor to strengthen the beneficiaries for searching their job opportunities.

  • Knitting

The knitting activity is based on a motivation to make or to remake clothes and other fabrics in order to progress their personal skills and ensure the cooperation by the team to a common product.
