Bashira Day Centre for Displaced Women - PSS Programme

SAO Association Hellas implements a trauma informed and services focused PSS programme, based on the needs of members, at the Bashira Day Centre for Displaced Women. Assistance is provided by a team of women who are specially dedicated professionals (social workers and social scientists, psychologists, interpreters, and educators).

SAO Association focuses on providing support to young mothers, single, disabled, and elderly women who fled their homes to escape war, violence and persecution. Located in central Mytilene, Bashira welcomes women of various ethnic, religious, and national backgrounds in a warm and safe environment.

Our aim is to foster social inclusion and facilitate the integration process of the women who seek our services and by extension assist them and their families to build their lives in dignity.

• Emergency support, group and one on one PSS consultations, GBV case management, dissemination of relevant vital information, access to health, legal services and institutions, social inclusion initiatives, remote English language learning tools
• Services are offered remotely and on site
• Registrations are accepted by referral from ally organizations and partners only.

Languages spoken: Greek, English, French, Farsi/Dari, Arabic

Eligibility for services: women 16+ and teenage girls if accompanied by mother or other female legal guardian
