Diotima Centre for Gender Rights and Equality provides legal aid to refugees and asylum-seekers, women, girls, men, boys and LGBTQI+ (16 years old and older) who have experienced gender-based violence:
Individual counselling and legal representation before administrative, civil and criminal courts and procedures [cases range from domestic abuse, sexual assault or rape, to sexual exploitation and abuse, trafficking for sexual exploitation; sexual harassment, etc.]
Legal aid (legal representation and counselling) in asylum procedures (GBV related claims)
Information and referrals
One-to-one assistance, including going with you to public services as the Police, Asylum Service; Civil and Criminal courts
Legal interpretation services
Gender-based violence may include physical, sexual, emotional, psychological and financial violence and/or abuse, or threats of violence and abuse. People of all genders, sexual orientations and gender identities may experience gender-based violence.
