Description

The "Iolaos" Day Center offers support and mental health care for asylum-seekers and refugees who have mental illnesses or severe psycho-social problems:

  • Psychiatric care and monitoring
  • Psychotherapeutic sessions
  • One-on-one and family counseling (an interpreter with intercultural knowledge will be present)
  • Referrals to healthcare providers or hospitals for specialized tests or care
  • Referrals to other services and support (social services, employment agencies, legal assistance, educational support, immigrant communities, etc.)
  • Information and support during the asylum procedure
  • Greek language lessons

Klimaka may be able to support you if you are experiencing any of the following:

  • Difficulty concentrating or memory problems
  • Sleeping or eating disorders
  • Loss of self-confidence
  • Alcohol dependence
  • Feelings of disappointment, confusion, or sadness
  • Bursts of anger or agitation
  • Depression
  • Constant feelings of fatigue, headaches, muscle tightness or body aches 
  • Disruption of everyday joyful activities
  • Social isolation (not wanting to go out and meet people)
  • Feelings of fear and helplessness after you have experienced a loss of family members, injuries, exploitation, sexual or verbal abuse
  • Thoughts or attempts to self-harm
