Complaint mechanisms are established reporting channels by organizations, independent bodies and public services to facilitate the submission of complaints. These mechanisms are available to everyone without exception and allow individuals to report problems, malfunctions, and violations across diverse sectors, such as public administration, employment, the healthcare system, human rights, incidents of racist violence, etc.

 

The Greek Ombudsman

Hellenic Labour Inspectorate

The complainant may submit a complaint, anonymously or by name, in one of the following ways:

  • Call the single citizen service line 1555.
  • Fill in the online anonymous complaint form here.
  • Online, through the registered user online complaint service. To create a user account for the electronic services of the Greek Labour Inspectorate (SEPΕ), click here.
  • Visit or call the competent Inspection Department.
  • Send an email to the Inspection Department at the place of work.

UNHCR's Inspector General's Office (IGO)

Reports of misconduct by a UNHCR staff member, United Nations staff member, or anyone with a contractual link to the United Nations (for example, NGO staff) can be made directly to the UNHCR's Inspector General's Office (IGO) in one of the following ways:

EKA (Athens Labour Unions Organization)

Migrant Point EKA participates in the Network of Information Services and Counselling of Workers and Unemployed. The Network provides free information and consultation services and addresses to:

  • Employees in the private sector in the fields of labour relations, insurance and employment policies, as well as issues of concern to employees in enterprises,
  • Unemployed in the fields of employment, education and training regarding their integration/reintegration into the labour market.

Hellenic Consumer's Ombudsman  

The complainant may submit a complaint in one of the following ways:

  • Submit your complaint in person at the offices of the Authority.
  • Send your complaint via post mail (Alexandras Av., PC 11471, Athens)
  • Submit online via a web form on the Authority's website.
  • Send an email.

 

EOPYY (by insured persons)

 Complaints are submitted on paper or online through the form. They should mention the complainant's details (name, surname, AMKA, contact information), a detailed description of the alleged case, and details of the complainer. The complainant may submit a complaint in one of the following ways:

Special Service against racist Violence of the Greek Police under the Ministry of Citizen Protection 

You can call at (+30) 11414 to complain. The line operates 24 hours daily, and your complaint will be treated with anonymity and confidentiality.

In case the victim would like to give testimony, they can directly communicate with the Racist Violence Recording Network (RVRN).

Fundamental Rights Officer (FRO)

This complaint mechanism has the duty to handle and examine, at a preliminary stage, complaints for alleged human rights violations during access to territory, reception, or asylum procedures in Greece.
