The Regional Asylum Office of Attica started its operation on June 7th 2013. It is based in Athens and its jurisdiction includes the following regions:
- Attica
- Central Greece
- and the Regional areas of Naxos, Paros, Milos, Syros, Kea-Kithnos, Tinos, Mykonos, Andros and Thira of the region of the South Aegean.
The Attica Regional Office handles all the applications of international protection with the exception of those that are managed by the Asylum Unit of Amygdaleza, Relocation of International Applicants (completed in 2018), the Piraeus Regional Asylum Office, Asylum Unit «Fast Track» of International Protection applications, the Asylum Unit of International Protection Applications of Pakistani nationals and the Asylum Unit of International Protection Applicants under custody.
